A fun evening friends: some old and some new. Chats about everything and nothing. The present can be as good as the good old times.

A delayed cab gave me the opportunity to go through the newspaper at leisure and have a banana strawberry smoothie. What a difference five minutes can make in the morning!

A hearty laugh

This little statue, The Laughing Buddha, sits on my desk at work. Five to six different locations over the last three years, and this, a gift from my team member, is one of the first items to find a new resting place.

Engaged!

One of my closest friends got engaged today. I flew into Madras for my shortest trip to date. Among  the many things displayed (fruits, sugar, nuts, etc) at the engagement venue, was this pair of bride and groom dolls. I really liked the fact that the girl doll was winking. You go girl!

We were waiting for someone outside their office when this little fellow came up to us. He wasn't scared of us and for a change, I wasn't scared of him. He was so curious and kept trying to figure out what that contraption in my hand was. Dogs usually take to S and try and keep away from me (am I thankful for that or what) but this fellow seemed to be interested only in me. This is the look he gave me when we got ready to drive away.

After having spent half my adult life in the city that was put on the world map by Maruti Suzuki, I finally drove past Maruti Udyog Limited. (I do wish the car standing outside had been one of their own.)
