It is time to say good bye to my dear friends who added so much colour and variety to my dinner table in the last six months. It is time for six months of gourds of various kinds and I'd be lying if I said I was thrilled with the idea.

Nursery

I'm enjoying playing with my new phone. We went to a nursery in the middle of a very hot day to buy some plants for our balcony. I couldn't resist clicking this colourful patch.

Gharonda

When I first moved to Gurgaon in October 1999, this was the house I rented. I loved the name, Gharonda, loved its proximity to my office and most of all, loved the family that let this place out to me. This place holds so many memories that when we drove past after buying my new phone, I had to take this photo.

A hearty laugh

This little statue, The Laughing Buddha, sits on my desk at work. Five to six different locations over the last three years, and this, a gift from my team member, is one of the first items to find a new resting place.

Engaged!

One of my closest friends got engaged today. I flew into Madras for my shortest trip to date. Among  the many things displayed (fruits, sugar, nuts, etc) at the engagement venue, was this pair of bride and groom dolls. I really liked the fact that the girl doll was winking. You go girl!

We were waiting for someone outside their office when this little fellow came up to us. He wasn't scared of us and for a change, I wasn't scared of him. He was so curious and kept trying to figure out what that contraption in my hand was. Dogs usually take to S and try and keep away from me (am I thankful for that or what) but this fellow seemed to be interested only in me. This is the look he gave me when we got ready to drive away.

This is the little finger puppet that is the only "decorative" object that resides in our car. Unlike many cars I cross everyday that seem like mobile stuffed toy stores!

INA Market

This is one of the markets in Delhi that is very famous. You get the most exotic vegetables, fruits, cheeses, herbs and meats, not to mention fancy hard-to-find ingredients. The one stop destination for just about everything you're likely to need for your kitchen: INA Market. Looks can be so deceptive!

Balloons

Everytime I pass these structures at the flyover near the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), I wonder what they're meant for. They remind me of giant metal balloons. One RJ on an FM channel said the aliens had planted them there after landing on earth. I can't help but laugh when I remember that!

We went looking for furniture at the famous Kirti Nagar Market in West Delhi. As always, this caught my eye and I burst out laughing. This store was closed and many passers by wondered what I was trying to capture!
